Literary OrganismStephanie Posavec‘s infographic maps visualizing the language structure in Jack Kerouac‘s On the Road are mind-numbingly stunning. Mapping the rhythms and patterns within Kerouac’s most famous work, Posavec’s works have to be studied at length to be even marginally appreciated.

In the example shown here, word counts are represented by the form of the design elements while the colors represent various concepts; light blue for Dean Moriarty, green for bop and jazz, slate blue for travel, and so on.

Posavec’s maps are currently part of the Sheffield Galleries’ On the Map exhibition.
