Springtime ballpark fever

Sid HartmanAfter a few fits and starts I’m pretty sure it’s once again springtime for real up here on the far edge. And as sure as ice is out of Lake Minnetonka by May, the local corporate media is thumping for a new taxpayer-funded ballpark (hey Craig! How ‘bout some permalinks, buddy…). And nobody thumps harder than the Trib‘s Sid Hartman. Paul Demko, writing for City Pages, has a breathtaking round-up of Sid’s sky-is-falling fairy-tale predictions of our small-ball hero Twins leaving town:

“At one point or another the Twins have supposedly been slated to be relocated to Salt Lake City, Portland, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Mexico City, Charlotte, N.C., and Choctaw, Mississippi. But no one has been more shamelessly apocalyptic in his soothsaying than that foul old goat at the Star Tribune, Sid Hartman.”

Nicely done.
