A Washington Post article explains how the gun industry is on the verge of convincing the Bush administration and Congress to protect it from current and future lawsuits that would hold it responsible for the illegal behavior of its customers.

Dan Gillmor does an excellent job of deconstructing the logic behind the situation: “Congress and its benefactors in the entertainment industry insist that a technology that can be used to infringe copyrights must be illegal by definition. Never mind that the technology may have entirely legal uses.”
